My Dad was there as a US Marine!
Thanks for leaving a comment, Janice. Where and when did your Dad serve?
What a great story !!Never thought of the effect of the war on the people that the US saved from Nazi Germany. It is nice to see all the outpouring of affection to the troops that liberated Europe. It’s so wonderful to see the thankfulness of the people that were saved by other people that never knew them before. Thanks for letting America know what we have overlooked.
Thanks for your comment, Tim! That was our goal with this story and the stories in The Girl Who Wore Freedom; to share the stories of love, devotion, and gratitude that you experience among the people of Normandy.
