Christian, I agree with Dale Dye. History as close as the Iraq war in 2003 is a memory lost. WWII is long past in that category: lost history. As a school official, and former teacher-though not of history, but of music education (bands), I am ashamed of what has happened. Though never in control of those who are now “teaching” US History, do not do so in a way that can interest young men and women. The distractions we’ve allowed for them are closing many important doors. History and WWII, in particular are being lost for this season of our country’s life. Your film will play a part in bridging that gap, breaking through the attention span problem our kids have today. However, today is not forever. Nor are well made films like “The Girl Who Wore Freedom.” I applaud every effort being made to bring this important project forward to a mass audience of students, of all ages. God bless you all.
