I recently visited Miss Montana, a C-47 that flew with Daks over Normandy and dropped parachutists on to the same drop zone as the 82nd and 101st Divisions in 1944.
Miss Montana was restored to flight status in Missoula Montana and flew to England and then dropped 19 jumpers inland close to Utah Beach and then flew to Berlin to commemorate the 1948-49 Berlin airlift.
I met one of the pilots, Bryan Douglas, and one of the jumpers Shaun Medula.
I’m told that Missoula Montana has a film festival that would be a natural for The Girl Who Wore Freedom.
