The Girl Who Wore Freedom

est une histoire d’amour non conventionnelle entre les Normands, en France, et les GI américains qui les ont libérés de l’occupation allemande. Il est dit par ceux qui l’ont vécu. Souvenirs de difficultés, de mort, d’héroïsme et d’amour.

« Que certains garçons, dans certains cas, des enfants soient descendus à terre sur nos plages. Lorsque vous réalisez que vous êtes libre, que vous pouvez utiliser votre langue et continuer à maintenir vos traditions, alors vous vous rendez compte de ce qu’ils ont fait et les sacrifices que beaucoup d’entre eux ont fait.

The tenth annual Julien Dubuque International Film Festival will take place in Dubuque, Iowa April 18-25 with a pre-festival event on April 17 in Galena, Illinois. Here’s a helpful article with more information about the festival.

There will be a pre-festival event and screening in Galena, Illinois.

  • Saturday, April 17th from 3:00pm – 5:00 pm – DeSoto House (Parker Room)

The Girl Who Wore Freedom will screen 3 times at JDIFF:

  • Wednesday, April 21 at 2:30 pm – Phoenix Theater 1*
  • Saturday, April 24 at 4:00 pm – Phoenix Theater 1*
  • Sunday, April 25 at 10:00 am – Phoenix Theater 1*

EXTRA! EXTRA!
There will be a WWII reenactment camp in Dubuque’s Washington Park on Saturday and Sunday with tents, GIs and WII era vehicles. All are welcome!

*Christian Taylor and other crew members will be attending in person. Come meet the team! They will be participating in coffee talks, filmmaker panels and Q and As after all the screenings.

The mission of the Port Townsend Film Festival is to spark community by connecting filmmakers & audiences! Films will be screening from April 23rd – May 2nd. Q and A with director Christian Taylor will follow screening of The Girl Who Wore Freedom. The PTFF believes in sparking community by connecting filmmakers and film lovers. The 22nd Annual Port Townsend Film Festival has been called “the Sundance by the sea” for outstanding programming, legendary hospitality, and our enthusiastic and welcoming community.

 

 

The GI Film Festival will stream May 18th – 23rd. The Girl Who Wore Freedom will be screened live on May 19, 2021 at 7:15 pm PST with a Q and A with Director Christian Taylor and Jeff Kurtenacker to follow.

On Demand screenings will begin on May 20th and run until end of the day on May 23rd.

 

The Nice International Film Festival will take place May 24th – 28th. The festival will officially begin at 10am (Paris Time) on the 24th of May, 2021.
