We are excited to announce we have been selected by the Lady Filmmakers Festival and will be included in their 2020 schedule. This festival begins on September 25 and will begin as a virtual festival. The festival has said they are also considering Drive-In options in Beverly Hills, CA, and on the East Coast at some point. We will share those event details when available.

This festival will allow online viewing anywhere in the world, so it’s a fantastic opportunity for you and your friends and family to watch The Girl Who Wore Freedom. You can find TGWWF in the Lady Filmmakers program under Ladies Illuminate Feature #10 and includes a recorded Q&A with Director Christian Taylor, Editor Bill Ebel, Composer Jeff Kurtenacker, Co-Producers Michelle Coupey, and Flo Boucherie, and our star, Dany Patrix Boucherie discussing the film!

We are thrilled to be selected for the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival and to be celebrating our premiere in Chagrin Falls. Supporters wishing to join us at our premiere event can make hotel reservations. This year’s Chagrin Festival will take place in a hybrid format. Most films will be screened online (with Ohio viewing only), and a select few films will be screened, Drive-In style, in Chagrin Falls.

The Chagrin Documentary Film Festival is a celebration of documentary storytelling and of the filmmakers who bring us their stories. Founded in honor of late filmmaker David Ponce, the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival is proud to bring stories from around the world to Ohio’s beautiful Chagrin Valley. This inspiring and highly attended documentary film festival is entering its eleventh year. The Festival takes place at venues in and around the lovely century village of Chagrin Falls, Ohio with a focus on honoring talented filmmakers from around the world.

The Girl Who Wore Freedom was selected for inclusion in the highly regarded International Sound & Film Music Festival in Pula, Croatia. Unfortunately, due to the international Covid-19 situation, the festival was canceled. Fortunately, the judging still took place, and TGWWF’s masterful score took the top prize!  Congratulations are in order to TGWWF’s incredible composer Jeff Kurtenacker for winning the Documentary Best Original Score award at the International Sound & Film Music Festival!  We hope to travel to Pula next year where they will present us with the Crystal Pine trophy.

The mission of the International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF) is the promotion and preservation of film music as an irreplaceable element of film which is a great art itself, as well as the film sound. Also, the mission is to expand awareness among the audience and filmmakers on the importance of original music and sound in film.

The Girl Who Wore Freedom was selected for the Central States Indie FanFilmFest. Sadly, due to the virus situation in the United States, the festival was forced to cancel. Thankfully, the judging still took place and TGWWF won the Best Feature Documentary award!
