The 75th Anniversary of D-Day – Documentary for National and International Broadcast

Sponsorship Opportunities

On June 5th, 1944, in Ste. Marie du Mont, Normandy, five-year-old Danielle Patrix fell asleep to the familiar sounds of German jackboots marching on her cobblestone street. When she woke up, she heard an unfamiliar rumbling. American tanks, arriving from Utah Beach, rolled past her front door announcing liberation from Germany. Soldiers stopped at her door and gave her gifts of gum, chocolate, and candy. On that day, June 6th, 1944, they also gave Danielle and Ste. Marie du Mont freedom.

The Girl Who Wore Freedom is an hour long documentary for national and international television broadcast which tells the story of D-Day and it’s legacy as told by those who lived it and those who continue to honor its lasting impact of freedom through the celebrations of remembrance and gratitude.

Your Company can be part of the historic 75th Anniversary of the D-Day liberation, “one of the largest amphibious military assaults in history,” through a sponsorship position with the documentary. It is unique and evergreen, a lasting opportunity.

The Girl Who Wore Freedom focuses on the personal stories and perspectives of those who lived through the invasion and who will never forget being liberated. These are people who value freedom and understand its cost. They embrace the need to be vigilant and relish the rewards of freedom.

This documentary begins with one little girl’s story which expands to many accounts of how the French saw – and still remember – the bravery and heroism of the American GIs during the capstone invasion of WWII. To this day, these heroes, as they are still called by the people of Normandy, are deeply appreciated and the warm relationship between the two countries is nurtured.

Who is The Girl Who Wore Freedom? Her name is Danielle Patrix and she quite literally wore the symbol of Freedom on the very first commemoration ceremony of her village’s liberation. Through personal reflections and dramatic reenactments, Danielle’s story leads the viewer through the events of D-Day, which created an unbreakable bond between the people of Normandy, France and the American soldiers who liberated them. Her story illustrates who America is at her very best – when she takes an active role in protecting and liberating the oppressed, wherever on Earth they may be.

Your Company’s sponsorship will enable the documentary to immortalize for a worldwide audience this story of freedom, as the 75th anniversary of the invasion is celebrated and memorialized.

This narrative is uplifting and positive, a dramatic testament to those who seek freedom through hard won battles, harrowing stories of personal hardships overcome, and the true taste of freedom. The liberated French persevere and pass down these ideals from one generation to the next as the flame of freedom is held high.
