The team is finally back together again after Thanksgiving. Hear how they spent Thanksgiving break with family.
Introducing a new segment – “News for the Day” – hopefully this new segment will be ongoing in future podcasts.
News #1 – The power of connections through TGWWF – At the French Embassy with a friend and champion of TGWWF, Virginie Durr (Delta Airlines) helped veterans receive well deserved recognition and medals from the French President, in Washington DC.
News #2 – Hot off the press in the morning of the podcast recording. Jonah Taylor has a new posting. Christian give us insight into what happens during a soldier’s placement. Again the power of connection through TGWWF is revisited. Hear where Jonah is being posted and how this came about. Christian also reflects on the serendipitous connections her sons have brought regarding her WWII projects. Hear which project Jonah may now be connected to.
General Updates:
French Embassy Screening – Connections, champions and partnerships with Virginie Durr, Delta, Michelin, etc. Christian gives us a great insight to her experience with her first French audience in the USA and a certain special guest who could be a part of it. Christian is the networking queen.
Partnership with BDF (Best Defense Foundation) – Some more amazing opportunities are on the horizon with new partnerships. TGWWF is also a call to action – this partnership is a great example of that.
** When you think about making a film – consider if it’s an “evergreen” subject – so that is has a life in the future. WWII subjects seem to allow for the amazing opportunities like the in-person events that Christian has been able to speak at.
101st Division Meetings – More opportunities for TGWWF to make an impact, particularly inside the military at various locations and events. Christian was finally able to have conversations with the right people who are excited about the film to brainstorm some ideas.
Sales Update:
Right now all of our sales that are happening are happening. Most of them are happening through Amazon, Apple TV, Vudu, YouTube, Google Play, but we still believe it or not, are selling DVDs, and it just ceases never ceases to amaze the team. “DVD” – what’s that?
Question: Who recently bought a DVD for the first time in 15 years? And how are they planning to watch it? Will we ever hear a review/recommendation in DocuView Déjà Vu using DVDs?
Patreon – We haven’t forgotten you. Staffing challenges exist but we are working on things for you guys
Carentan Project Update – Recently another one was done. There is one more transcript to go. Then we can finalize the sizzle reel script to then jump into editing the footage.
Brave Dutch Project – Still happening, Zach is still working on the pilot. Website is being updated, and other interesting moments, including “dodging bullets….”
SAD NEWS: – Robbie has to take leave of absence – with a heavy heart he explains his decision to take a step away for a season. He will be missed.
Docs-View DejaVu:
Jason needs a pass as he hasn’t had a chance to watch something the wants recommend – maybe next time we will hear about the Mockumentary that he bought on DVD????
